Perfection is rare in the academic world, even amongst high achievers, but students of INTI International University (IIU) have proven it is possible to obtain perfect scores at major public exams such as the South Australian Matriculation (SAM).
Not one but 9 IIU SAM students achieved perfect scores (20/20) in the SAM 2009 examination. 7 of these were for Accounting Studies, a truly remarkable achievement when one considers the fact that worldwide, only 32 other students managed to obtain full marks for the subject.
IIU SAM students were no less impressive from a macro point of view. 39% of them achieved a TER (Tertiary Entrance Rank) of 90 and above, putting them among the top 10% globally last year.
Acknowledging IIU’s ability to produce excellent scholars, the Public Services Department (JPA) allocates a number of scholarship students to the institution to pursue the SAM qualification annually. These scholars have done very well in the 2009 examination, with 62% achieving a TER of 90 and above. 89% of them qualified for further studies in Australia in areas ranging from actuarial studies and quantity surveying to economics and accounting.

The internationally recognised SAM qualification is equivalent to the A-Level and allows students to gain direct entry into universities in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, USA and other countries. IIU is one of the few SAM examination centers in Malaysia recognised by the Senior Secondary Assessment Board of South Australia (SSABSA), which awards the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) and administers the SAM programme. IIU is the largest center for SAM in the southern region of Malaysia.
