It is a fast growing company with a proven track record of success in every market it has ventured to, as it brings best practices from its network to each market. Some of the biggest success stories in the global education sector are institutions within the Laureate network, as the company has successfully repositioned and turned around institutions in Chile, Mexico and Spain among others.
- What are among the well-known programmes under Laureate?
There are many well-known programmes offered by institutions within the Laureate International Universities network and this includes - International Business Management in ESCE in Paris, Hospitality Management in Les Roches and Glion in Switzerland, Architecture & Design in New School of Architecture and Design in San Diego, Health Sciences Program in UEM in Spain, IT in ECE in Paris, etc.
- What are some of the changes that can be expected now that INTI is part of the Laureate network?
There will be a lot of difference and change stemming from this synergy, as there will now be increased student and lecturer mobility, as well as shared resources and best practices. There will be new programmes and courses, and access to resources and expertise from the entire Laureate network. The biggest change is that INTI will no longer be a Malaysian entity, but part of a fast-growing and dynamic global education network.
- Will new programmes be introduced?
Yes, new programmes will be introduced, as we will be tapping on Laureate’s network to further enhance our current portfolio.
For instance, Laureate has within its network some of the world’s top hospitality schools – Les Roches and Glion.
- Can students transfer to Laureate institutions overseas and complete their degree there?
Yes they will be able to. We are currently working on the necessary entry requirements. This is part of the benefits that being part of the Laureate network brings.
- What is the Semester Abroad Programme about?
INTI students will have the opportunity to study abroad for a semester at a Laureate institution of their choice, without paying additional fees.
- What are the changes current INTI students can expect?
Current students will benefit from global articulation programmes and increased student and lecturer mobility. The focus on employability also means that students graduating from Laureate institutions are highly sought after, as courses are structured based on the needs and demands of the market; and this is another positive benefit.

Our curriculum will be aligned with that of the markets’ needs and expectations and we will ensure that we prepare and equip our students with all the relevant technical skills and soft skills needed by the industries; ensuring that they are highly employable and sought after commodities upon graduation.

INTI offers its own degree programmes as well as others at Certificate, Diploma, Bachelor Degree and Master Degree levels that meet the diverse interests and needs of today’s students. The majority of these programmes are accepted and validated by reputable and leading universities in the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and Canada. INTI enables students who want an international experience to pursue the final year of their degree studies at various partner universities overseas. Alternatively, students can complete their 3+0 degree programmes at INTI and obtain degrees from INTI’s overseas partner universities.

- Have the programmes offered at INTI received approval from the authorities?
Yes, all INTI programmes are approved by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), an entity appointed by the Ministry of Higher Education as a basis for quality assurance of higher education. The majority of the programmes have received full accreditation; some have provisional accreditation and a minimal number have achieved minimum standard.
INTI was awarded the highest number of accredited programmes by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia in 2005.
- Are scholarships or financial assistance available for students?
At INTI, we set no limit to the number of scholarships we give away every year because we believe there is no limit to human capital. INTI has awarded RM 88 million worth of scholarships to 8,151 deserving students since 1991, an amount exceeding that given by any other private education institution in Malaysia. In addition, INTI students receive the largest amount of scholarships offered by US universities each year. Qualified candidates may apply for any one of the following INTI Freshmen Scholarships valued at 10% to 100% tuition fees waivers:

Besides the above, INTI is also offering scholarships in collaboration with local dailies such as the Star Education Fund, NST-MAPCU scholarships, Sin Chew Education Fund and Nan Yang scholarship.

- Where are the INTI campuses located?
In addition to the state-of-the-art flagship campus in Putra Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, INTI also has campuses in downtown Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya and Subang Jaya in Selangor, Penang, Gohtong Jaya in Pahang, Kota Kinabalu in Sabah and Kuching in Sarawak as well as a wide range of international locations for students to choose from now that it is a part of the global Laureate network.
- What are the learning and recreational facilities that INTI provides?
INTI’s campuses are well-equipped with engineering workshops and laboratories, computer laboratories, TMNet broadband facility and wireless hotspots, science laboratories, lecture theatres, lecture halls and fully air-conditioned lecture rooms. Our state-of-the-art facilities include a fully-computerized library, multimedia laboratories and a moot court. There are also various choices of accommodation available such as standard or air-conditioned rooms to suit an individual student’s taste.
Recreational facilities include an Olympic-size swimming pool (at INTI-UC), fitness centre, football field, tennis court, squash courts, sports hall, student centre, cyber-café, cafeteria, dining hall, book centre, mini market, hair salon and more.
- What are the career prospects upon graduating from INTI?
Employers have been impressed with the high quality of INTI-UC graduates. Many of them actually secured jobs months before they graduated. At INTI, our programmes are specifically designed to prepare our students for the employment market and we focus on career-based learning and training in competencies. To give our students an edge in the employment market, INTI has also introduced a unique programme called Enrolment to Employment (E2E), which is run in collaboration with multinational companies. E2E is mandatory for all INTI students, who will benefit from scores of opportunities stemming from round-table dialogues, career fairs across all INTI campuses, research opportunities, education trips and internships, and other activities.
